The X-34 Landspeeder is an iconic vehicle now brought to life in a miniature form. The magic lives on within the magnetic levitation effect allowing this craft to actually float on the air in real life. The craft itself is made from Sapele, hand-carved and detailed, with the “motors” being made from Padauk to give off that classic “red” color. The seats are carved from Black Wenge and the windshield is shaped from resin. The “paint job” was done by burning sections of the wood to darken specific areas. (This could be the first and only Wooden Mag-Lev Landspeeder! So cool!)
(NOTE: In order for the mag-lev effect to work, the base MUST be plugged in. To set the Landspeeder in place, keep one hand on the base to keep it from moving around. These magnets are STRONG. Carefully move the ship over the base, keeping it level and approximately 3/4” off the surface. You will feel the magnets pulling it around. Keeping moving it until you feel a “pocket”, at which point you can carefully let go!)
